During Bungie's last livestream, they announced Destiny 2: new light. This will be a new entry point into the series that will basically Destiny 2 with the only change it's free. That's right, when New Light is launched, new players will be able to try the game for free. This initiative is part of Bungie's initiative to involve more players without being bogged down by the overwhelming amount of content. New light will include the basic game, Curse of Osiris, and Warmind.

This news came shortly after it was revealed that Destiny 2 would be a part of Google Stadia that will allow players to play the popular game on any device with a Chrome browser. In addition, it has been revealed that New light will also be launched on Steam.

New light is not the only news on Destiny 2 although. The next expansion Shadow guard has also been presented and proposes a new model of pricing à la carte. This means that Bungie wants to remove the season passes apparently. They want players to know what they are buying before depositing their money. However, it seems that if you buy the latest version, you will have access to the content of the season.

New light must go out on September 17th, and Shadow guard will be out sometime this fall.
