Star Wars fans got another look at this new retractable lightsaber aimed at the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser in a video from Walt Disney Imagineering. The innovation showcase highlights all the different attractions from various parks around the world. But for fans of the Jedi and Sith, the Galaxy’s Edge sections must be particularly exciting. Getting the animatronics to work as intended is no easy task. There’s so much research and iterations going into something as small as rolling droids back and forth. But, it’s a whole different ball game when it comes to something as grand as those retractable lightsabers that end up in the hands of guests in the parks. This is the grand finale that Disney is planning for this particular invention. It will be exciting to see it evolve when the Starcruiser opens in 2022. Here’s what a press release for the Lightsaber said when it was first announced.
