New Mexico reports 13 new deaths, 1,443 more cases of COVID-19

  • A man in his 70s from Lea County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions. The individual resided at the Desert Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hobbs.
  • A woman in her thirties from McKinley County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
  • A woman in her 60s from Otero County. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A man in his 60s from Sandoval County. The individual resided at The Suites at Rio Vista in Rio Rancho.
  • A woman in her 40s from San Juan County. The individual was hospitalized and resided at the Aztec Healthcare facility in Aztec.
  • Man in his 80s from San Juan County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions. The individual resided at the Aztec Healthcare facility in Aztec.
  • A man in his 80s from Taos County. The individual resided at the Taos Living Center in Taos.

The death toll of New Mexico residents linked to COVID-19 is now 1,540.

In addition to the deaths, the state has reported 1,443 additional cases of COVID-19. New Mexico reported a total of 95,417 cases on Sunday.

The latter cases include:

  • 1 new case in Catron County
  • 135 new cases in Chaves County
  • 33 new cases in Cibola County
  • 10 new cases in Colfax County
  • 33 new cases in Curry County
  • 1 new case in De Baca County

  • 19 new cases in Eddy County
  • 15 new cases in Grant County
  • 3 new cases in Guadalupe County

KOB 4 determined that there was a positivity result of 13.1% of the tests analyzed in the state Sunday report.

The state reports that 919 people are currently being treated for COVID-19 in hospital. The number may include people who have tested positive for COVID-19 out of state but are hospitalized in New Mexico.

As of Sunday, there were 32,050 cases of COVID-19 designated as cured by the New Mexico Department of Health.
