Fans of "Orphan Black" may soon have reasons to celebrate.
Variety learned from sources that a new series installed in the "Orphan Black" universe is currently in the early stages of development at AMC. Temple Street Productions, which produced the original series, also participates in the production of the new series.
Sources have however pointed out that it would not be a spin-off or a restart of the original series, but rather a completely new story unfolding in the same world. The producers are currently looking for a screenwriter for the project and are looking to bring several people to present different versions of what the show could be.
AMC and Temple Street declined to comment.
The news of the development is all the more interesting as it was created at AMC rather than at BBC America, which aired the original in the United States.
