New photos of AMD Radeon printed circuit boards with GDDR6 memory

We all know that the successor to AMD's Polaris (Radeon 570/580/590) needs to be released. Some announcements are already expected at Computex at the end of next month. The indications are getting stronger as AMD cards have come to light.

Navi will have an updated GCN architecture and must be manufactured on 7nm manufacturing nodes, much like Ryzen 3000. A previous report indicated that the new generation Navi 10 GPUs would be introduced at E3 2019, which is June 12th to 15th to be released on July 7th. Launch date 7.7. already been suggested and does not seem too far-fetched since AMD likes to refer to its own 7-nm GPU, so it would still be too easy to speculate on that date.

The Navi 10 is supposed to be a classic graphics card like the one offered by Polaris with a slight increase in speed. However, it is claimed that the performance could exceed expectations and potentially exceed those of the Radeon RX Vega 64 behind the GeForce RTX 2070 or 2080.

So that's the introduction to NAVI. Now let's talk about new discoveries that show two screenshots of a new front and back circuit board. The PCB is unknown, does not seem familiar outside the AMD logo. Take note of the usual warnings, but two photos below seem to be a new AMD PCB design.

These have filtered on the Chinese forums of Baidu, the printed circuit shows the protective film not yet removed. The kernel of the device indicates the location of this unknown GPU, communicating with what will be the GDDR6 memory chips.

If you count the SMT traces of GDDR6 memory, you can know that the card will receive 8 or 16 GB. Combining that with a suggested 256-bit bus and an effective frequency of 12 or 14 GHz would bring a bandwidth of 384 or 448 GB / s to these puppies. There is room for 8 phases and a pair of 8-pin PCI-E power connectors. Obviously, it could only happen to an engineering office or even an existing table concept that we have not recognized, but the timing is propitious and it is an interesting discovery so shortly before the summer.
