The recently released photos would show one of the first physical Apple Card cards, including its special packaging for a quick pairing with an iPhone.
As expected, the package contains an NFC tag, according to the well-known leak source Ben Geskin. This should link the physical card to the digital card in the Wallet app.
The card disclosed would belong to someone from one of Apple's "semi-private" beta. Geskin's name was Photoshopped in order to protect the identity of the real person.
He also noted that although the map looks golden, it is probably an illusion caused by the ambient color temperature. In person, the cards should have the same silver hue as the one presented by Apple at its press event on March 25th.
The physical card Apple Card is remarkable not only for NFC pairing, but also in real titanium instead of plastic. For security reasons, there are missing visible account or CVV numbers, which should instead be retrieved from the Wallet app.
Apple is partnering with Goldman Sachs and Mastercard for the initial launch in the United States. It has not yet set a firm date beyond this summer.
