New Pokémon Snap, a sequel to the classic N64 from 1999 that asked you to take pictures of pokemon, is coming to Nintendo Switch on April 30, Nintendo announced today in a new trailer.
In New Pokémon Snap, players control a pokemon photographer that traverses Lental, an area full of stunning scenery ranging from lush jungle to sandy beaches. Players collaborate with area pokemon expert Professor Mirror and his assistant Rita to conduct ecological studies, photograph and observe pokemon in their natural habitats.
Gameplay remains similar to its predecessor, in which players travel in a self-driving vehicle while visiting various locations in the region to take photos to build their “Photodex”. Points are awarded based on the quality of the photos you take, and just like the original game, players can use items like apples to draw pokemon closer for a better shot.
2021 is a great year for Pokemon as the series celebrates its 25th anniversary. Yesterday, the Pokémon Company International announced that it is launching a series of music events. He was collaborating with pop singer Katy Perry along with other “artists rising to award-winning global superstars” to celebrate the franchise’s major milestone.
