There has been a Pokémon card game on PC for years which I guess will be news to some of us who have always been more into Pokémon RPGs. TCG fans will want to know that the recently announced Pokémon Trading Card Game Live will replace the current Pokémon Trading Card Game Online. Pokémon TCG Live is coming with upgrades like Ranked Ladder, 3D Avatars, and Battle Passes. It will also remove some major features like in-game chat and, most importantly, card trading. It’s not quite all the buffs and the sun though. Some features are discontinued when switching from Online to Live. Pokémon TCG Live will drop the in-game chat feature, for example. Importantly, it won’t have the “T” in TCG either. According to the game’s FAQ page, you cannot trade cards with other players like in Pokémon TCG Online.
On the bright side, an open beta will be available for PC and Mac gamers later this year ahead of launch. The Pokémon Company has not communicated the exact dates of this beta, nor the closing date of Pokémon TCG Online. More information on both is expected later.
