New PS5 game offerings hit on Xbox Series X

[ad_1]

A new PS5 game has dealt a blow to the Xbox Series X and the Xbox marketing team. For most of the PS4 and Xbox One generation, “console wars” seem to have been a thing of the past. However, towards the end of the generation when the Xbox started to take big strides and position itself as a competitor like in the Xbox 360 era, the console wars started to heat up and with the release of the PS5 and the Xbox Series. X, they’re back and maybe more vehement than ever. One of the big talking points in the console wars so far has been how the Xbox Series X is more powerful than the PS5. And that’s true. While the PS5 has a superior SSD, the Xbox Series X offers more power. Still, it’s the PS5 with the first 8K game on console.

The tourist by Shin’en Multimedia is out now on PS5 where it is the first native 8K rendered game not only on the PS5 but also on the next gen console. In other words, the weaker of the two consoles beat the technically superior console at 8K. Does it really matter? Not really, but in the console war it’s definitely a talking point.

On PS5, the game would be rendered at 7680×4320 – at 60 fps – without tricks like time-based supersampling or AI upscaling. For those unfamiliar with technical terms, just know that it is not easy, hence the reason why it has not yet been done. That said, the achievement is compromised by the fact that the PS5 does not currently support 8K output with HDMI 2.1. It’s also worth noting that hardly anyone has a screen that can take advantage of this achievement, and neither will it be an achievement that we will see often this generation, as it will be nearly impossible to achieve for most games. . with the PS5 and Xbox Series X credentials in mind. But for the console war, it’s a victory for the PS5.
