The new footage, released on the second day of Trump’s Senate trial, takes advantage of Capitol Hill security cameras placed around the complex, illustrating both the violent intentions of the mob and the heroism of several Capitol Hill police officers, including Eugene Goodman, who had diverted the crowd away from the Senators on the chamber floor.

The video shows a group of violent Trump supporters crushing Capitol Police and charging through a barricade set up on the Western Front of the Capitol. In the never-before-seen audio of internal Capitol Police dispatches, officers can be heard frantically warning of violations and calling for reinforcements.
“They are throwing metal poles at us,” shouts an officer.

At 1:49 p.m., the breach was officially declared a riot.
Among the revelations in the new footage: Goodman is seen running down a second-story hallway towards the Senate chamber, where he meets Sen. Some of the new footage was taken from the dozens of Capitol Hill security cameras that are placed inside the Capitol Building and the connected office buildings of the Home and Senate, as well as around Capitol Park.
Until now, the video from these security cameras had not been shown to the public. The FBI took possession of most of these videos as part of its ongoing investigation into the Jan.6 assault.

Some of the rioters who broke into Capitol Hill have indicated that they are planning to assassinate Pence for refusing to block Biden’s certification of victory, as Trump had asked him to do.
But Secret Service didn’t evacuate Pence from a room connected to the Senate chamber until 2:26 p.m., 37 minutes after the initial breach, according to new security footage shown by prosecutors.
The clear timeline reveals how close a call was for Pence.

Impeachment officials played audio of a phone call from one of Pelosi’s assistants, seeking help from the Capitol Police.

Pelosi herself, second after the Presidency, was escorted out of the House and evacuated from the Capitol complex and to an undisclosed location off-site due to the seriousness of the threat against her.

“We know from the rioters themselves that if they had found President Pelosi,” Plaskett said, “they would have killed her.”
After spending the first three and a half hours of day two giving varying levels of attention, Republican senators were mesmerized by the new security footage of Pence being evacuated from his Senate office.
Democratic and Republican lawmakers watched closely as executives viewed footage showing Pelosi (D-Calif.) Staff barricading themselves in an office minutes before a group of rioters marched down a hallway.
