New slide, rides to Six Flags theme parks, White Water

Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water will add three new attractions to its array of rides and slides that visitors flocking to their Cobb County amusement parks can enjoy.

Catwoman Whip and Poison Ivy Toxic Twister will debut in 2020, as well as new restaurants and stores in the Gotham City section of Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell. At Six Flags White Water, a new mega-slide will be open to patrons visiting Marietta Park next year. Python diving is a five-storey water slide with swirling discs and "adrenaline-blowing drops," Six Flags said.

The Catwoman Whip, a race with 24 open seats, will have a large wheel that turns horizontally while an arm raises and tilts the wheel upright. Six Flags explains that the Toxic Twister by Poison Ivy can accommodate 36 runners at a time. This carousel also has a central pivoting arm that rotates the runners into pods, which will go counter-clockwise while the carousel rotates in the opposite direction.

Park President Dale Kaetzel said the two attractions "will be sensational additions to our arsenal of rides that includes the region's largest variety of rides."

At Six Flags White Water, the Python Plunge will encircle the slides on the edge of the slide, in "steep angle bowls". It includes rafts for two people that can run on a 500-foot course and "liguing around giant bends sending guests diving into the pool below," said the company.
