New Star Wars story: The Rise of Skywalker reveals new ways for Kylo Ren, Rey and Rose

New details in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker have been revealed, revealing potential personal stories for a handful of key actors from episode 9, including Rey, Kylo Ren, and a surprising promotion for Rose Tico. There is also a story for Naomi Ackie's new character, Jannah.

Our sister magazine, SFX, was present yesterday at Rise of Skywalker Triple Force Friday Global Reveal (a bite) to preview some of the character synopses you can see below.

Rey "continues to study the ways of the Jedi," but doubt begins to emerge as she "is worried that the future, and the Force, might reserve her." As long as she does not wear a hood and that she uses a red lightsaber, we should be good … Wait she did it what?

Kylo Ren, meanwhile, is also perfecting his Force 101, while he "continues to search for Force secrets."

Elsewhere, everything changes for Rose Tico. The engineer, introduced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is now an on-site military commander to help fight mysterious "new advances in first-rate technology." Maybe it has something to do with the rumors of Death Star Destroyers – AKA Star Destroyers with Death Star technology on them …

Finn's and Poe's travels seem more or less on the right track – Finn is still fighting the First Order and Poe is becoming a better leader – so he's left to Jannah's mini-revelation to keep the new information to come up. The character of Naomi Ackie is "from an oceanic moon" and will lead a band of warriors against the First Order.

We now have a clearer picture of the heroes (and villains) in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. There are doubts, beginnings and an overview of the accelerated program of the Resistance. Where can we register?
