A new study shows that women who take birth control pills are less likely to develop the most aggressive types of ovarian cancer.
"Among those who used the contraceptive pill, the risk of ovarian cancer leading to death within 12 months of her diagnosis was 46% lower," said Jennifer Mongiovi, Ph.D. student at the University of Ottawa. University of Buffalo and one of the authors. of the study, said.
The research also found that over a five-year period, taking birth control pills reduced the likelihood of fatal ovarian cancer by 32%.
