New Valheim patch makes stealth even better

[ad_1]

Valheim is a viking sandbox survival game that’s currently exploding on Steam, selling a million copies since launching in Early Access. Developer Iron Gate released an update on Wednesday that makes some things more manageable.

The two biggest changes players should know about are stealth and death. Stealth now has a HUD that shows whether enemies are alerted to your presence or not. Stealth attacks, especially with a knife or bow, do a ton of damage to enemies, so it’s good to know if you’re capable of firing a devastating blow or not. Deathsquitos, an apt name for giant mosquito foes that used to one-shot Vikings, have also been nerfed to do less damage.

Here are the full patch notes released by Iron Gate, which are minimalist but add some nice quality-of-life changes. It looks like players will have a harder time teleporting ore to the map, as well as cheating resources, so fans who rely on devious methods to move forward should be aware of this new patch.

* Fixed Ragdoll destruction network

* Removed the dedicated dedicated server flag file shutdown system (use CTRL-C or SIGINT instead)

* Updated referral server startup scripts (please update local copies)

* World and character save improvements

* Fixed teleport ore chest hack

* Remove structure resource dupe bug fix

* Server map is set to server name to make it filterable in Steam server browser

* Localization fixes

* Added enemy awareness indicator to enemy huds

* Stealth adjustments

* Added replacement of backup directory on dedicated servers (-savedir)

* AI fixed

* Dmg lower on the deadquitos

* Fixed text-msg icon

* Updated PDF server manual

* More server list improvements (removal of the initial server list request to reduce network traffic)

* Carts detach when teleporting
