New York authorities cite Trump Organization's insurer to appear

The source who spoke to CNBC confirmed, as reported by the Times, that the subpoena addressed to Aon was asking for a bunch of documents about the relationship between Aon and Trump and the Trump organization dating back a decade. , including communications between these three parties.

The White House has referred CNBC to the Trump Organization for it to comment on the summons to appear at Aon. The Trump organization did not immediately comment.

Cohen cooperates with many federal and regional authorities as he prepares to serve a three-year sentence for a number of crimes, some of which are related to his work for Trump.

During her testimony before the House Oversight Committee last Wednesday, Cohen was questioned by New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

"And where could the committee find more information about this?" Ocasio-Cortez asked. "Do you think we need to look at his financial statements and tax returns to compare them?"

Cohen says, "Yes, and you'll find him at Trump Org."

Tuesday's Times reported that the Financial Services Department of New York had previously reviewed the Trump organization.

In 2017, the department reviewed Trump's long-standing relationship with the lender Deutsche Bank. This investigation resulted in no sanction on the part of the bank.
