Brendan Hunt, who goes through “X-Ray Ultra” on social media and his personal website, has posted on various social media sites several times since December, claiming that President Nancy Pelosi, US Senator Charles Schumer and Representative American Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should be killed, and even called for public execution, according to the complaint.

“And if you don’t, the citizens will,” Hunt reportedly said in a Facebook post on Dec.6. “We will not vote in another rigged election.) Bring America back!”

The complaint identifies Hunt as a part-time actor and filmmaker and a full-time employee of the New York State Office of Court Administration.

New York State Unified Court spokesman Lucian Chalfen confirmed to CNN that Hunt works as an assistant court analyst in the attorneys registration unit. He will be suspended without pay pending further administrative action, Chalfen said.

Hunt, of Queens, New York, is also the son of New York Family Court judge John M. Hunt, Chalfen said.

The complaint does not say whether Brendan Hunt attended the Capitol Riot on January 6.

He was arrested Tuesday morning and in federal court was ordered to be held until trial due to “the nature and circumstances of the offense,” an investigating judge said.

The charge comes amid heightened security in Washington, DC and state capitals across the country, as law enforcement officials warned of the potential for violent unrest ahead and on the day of the inauguration, especially among some hard right-wing extremists who mistakenly believe the election of Joe Biden. is illegitimate.

Hunt would have argued for this. On January 8, two days after the Capitol takeover, he allegedly posted a video on the BitChute website titled “KILL YOUR SENATORS” that showed him talking to the camera.

“We have to go back to the United States Capitol when all the senators and a lot of representatives are back” and “slaughter these m * therf ** kers,” Hunt said, according to the complaint.

“[O]Your government at this point is basically a handful of traitors … So what you need to do is take up arms, get to DC, probably the grand opening … so called grand opening of this m * therf ** Communist King Joe Biden. .. [T]This is probably the best time to do it, grab your guns, show up to DC and literally spray those m * therf ** kers … like, that’s the only option. “

In federal court on Tuesday, Assistant U.S. Attorney David Kessler argued as reasons for his detention that Hunt was a flight risk and had limited ties to the community, as well as a history of mental illness.

His lawyer, Leticia Olivera, said he had no criminal record and was not a member of any militia or paramilitary group.

“Without seeking to undermine the seriousness of the allegations contained in the complaint, there is no allegation here that Mr. Hunt has a history of abuse or possession of weapons,” Olivera said. “He has no intention of going to Washington, DC, buying guns or even coming into contact with federal officials let alone anything that could cause them physical harm.”

Olivera declined to comment further on CNN on the case.

CNN’s Brynn Gingras and Eric Levenson contributed to this report.
