The Times newspaper, quoting people familiar with the talks, said the talks "helped the president's legal team" in his attempt to refute the report, which was announced Thursday by the Justice Department.

White House and Justice Ministry spokesmen declined to comment on The Times, which said ABC News had for the first time reported on recent conversations between the White House and the Department of Justice . Earlier, ABC had stated that the White House had received a broad and non-specific briefing on the report.
Trump administration officials, known for giving interviews to Mueller
The much anticipated report will have editorials in four key areas, according to Barr, who, according to the Justice Department, will answer questions from the press on Thursday morning. In an interview Wednesday, President Donald Trump said Barr would hold a press conference and plan to do so.
In an example of concern raised by some people involved prior to the publication of the redacted report, a former administration official who collaborated in the Mueller investigation expressed reluctance to CNN to voluntarily speak with Mueller rather than in front of a grand jury face editorials.
