More than a dozen people were injured when a shuttle from a Newark airport employee crashed against a concrete partition on a ramp leading to Terminal B early Friday, blocking traffic at the airport and on the surrounding highways.

Injuries are not life threatening, police said.

The bus was heading to Level 2 of Terminal B for departures when it crashed on Express Road, an internal airport road that bypasses the terminals, officials said.

The ramp to ramp 2 of Terminal B was blocked for more than one hour, but was reopened at 7:00. Meanwhile, passengers could only access Terminal B via ramp 1 (arrivals) and level 3. The airport is recommended, as roads, including the New Jersey Turnpike, are congested after the accident.

The flights are not affected, according to the police of the port authorities.

The Port Authority Police and Emergency Services Officers are still on the scene at 18:45.
