If you’re looking for where to buy the PS5, Newegg restocked the PS5 earlier on Friday, as well as the Asus and MSI versions of the RTX 3080 and 3080 video cards and AMD Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 processors, but they’re all out of stock now. . It was notably the first test of the retailer’s brand new lottery system to face strong demand.
How does their lottery system work? Just go to the cashier and buy one of the items (here’s a list on Newegg) as usual, and you’ll be entered into a lottery to get those items. At the end (in several hours), the winners will be notified via email or the Newegg app and you will have two hours to complete your purchase – or the items will move to the next row.
It’s a flawed system, and we realize people will likely be disappointed, but it’s one way Newegg hopes to fight the crawling bots that scavenge the PS5’s stock before actual humans can buy them.
Gaming Offerings The Twitter account was the first to link the disparate products on Newegg:

As the Wario64 tweet notes, there were other high-demand items that were nearly impossible to buy lately, from Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3070, MSI RTX 3070 and Asus ROG STRIX RTX 3080 video cards to AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and AMD. Ryzen 7 5800X processors. All of them have been difficult to buy since their releases in the previous months.
