The New Yorker posted a new footage from inside the US Capitol by a reporter who followed rioters through the building and into the Senate chambers.

A first scene in the video shot by journalist Luke Mogelson shows the crowd walking through the building chanting “betrayal” and “defend your constitution, defend your freedom”.

“You’re outnumbered,” one man says to an officer who tries to block the crowd. The man adds, “We are listening to Trump, your boss.”

Another man in the video can be heard shouting, “Where are they?” As he looks into the Senate Chamber.

“There was not enough law enforcement to repel the crowd, which bombarded the officers with cans and bottles,” Mogelson wrote in his detailed account of the Capitol breach.

Officers can be seen in the video attempting to reason with the crowd, while being pushed back until rioters have access to the building, climbing stairs and charging into the hallways and opening the doors.

Another part of the video shows a man in a white shirt rummaging through a filing cabinet on a Senate desk saying, “There must be something here that we can use against these bastards.”

The rioters open the Senate offices and take out documents. A man is seen on his cell phone asking for medical help, saying he was hit in the face with a plastic bullet.

Mogelson caught several shots of Jacob Anthony Chansley, the “QAnon Shaman,” walking through the Capitol shirtless with a horned hat. Chansley has since turned into authorities and asked for President Trump’s pardon.

Another scene captured by Mogelson showed rioters destroying media material. A man is heard shouting, “Start making a list, write down all these names, and we start tracking them down one by one.”

Another man responds by shouting: “Traitors at the guillotine!”

Since the breach, dozens of people have been arrested across the country. Most have been accused of entering a restricted area illegally. The FBI is currently collecting advice and information to help locate those who took part in the riot.
