Gettleman plates on drafts
As the NFL General Managers do after the draft, Dave Gettleman is touring the media. On Monday, he went with Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Sirius XM NFL Radio. We know that he talked about Corey Ballentine and announced that the sixth round pick will take place at the mini-camp this weekend after being shot and wounded on Sunday when his friend Dwane Simmons was killed.

How much work he did on Daniel Jones …
The GM wanted to dispel any misconception that the Senior Bowl match was his only exposure to Jones:
"I watched every game. I watched the tape '17. I do not do that for a hobby, "said Gettleman.
He reiterated that seeing the Senior Bowl himself was the deciding factor:
"One thing that I've taught is Ernie [Accorsi] is necessary to see the live quarters, see them in the environment, "Gettleman said. "These three series that I have watched. I loved it in movies and that 's what convinced me. "

The Giants had love in the fourth round, 108th overall. Gettleman said he was "pacing" while waiting for the Giants' turn, hoping that Love would still be there.

Giants draft: Daniel Jones is better than you think
Everyone has an opinion on the rookie quarterback of the Giants. Here is another one:
When I started to look at it to prepare the sketch, I did not expect to enjoy it. In fact, I expected to hate him.
It did not happen.
Jones was quick to convince me. I liked some things about his game: he is fearless in the pocket, he is progressing quickly and his mechanics are (almost) impeccable. The guy can play football. He was not worth the top 10, but he was surely a potential first-round player who could convince a team that he could become their franchisee.
