A seaside house was completely destroyed by fire tonight on the Kapiti Coast, north of Wellington
The fire engulfed the entire property and lit fires on at least two neighboring houses.
A member of the public was seriously injured in a second fire tonight in Gore
Fire departments were alerted to the fire on Gorton Street just after 9pm .
It is not yet contained and four firefighters are fighting against the fire.
A spokeswoman for Fire & Emergency said that just before 9 pm, Waikanae's fire was under control, but he continued. Firefighters had to stay on the property for a while.
She confirmed that none of the people who live in the property or in the neighboring properties had been injured or taken in the initial fire.

When another person shared his concern s about someone inside, a third person said that "we checked, look empty".
A spokesman for St. John Ambulance said that they had not been called to the fire.
