A forestry worker dies in an accident south of Nelson

A man died in a forest accident south of Nelson

. He was rushed to Nelson Hospital in critical condition by the Nelson Marlborough rescue helicopter Monday around 10am, but later died at the hospital. Police were informed of the incident at 10:11, described as a forest accident.

the forest near Trass Valley Road, about 10 km from Wakefield.

A WorkSafe spokesman said that he had been informed of the incident and was investigating

The coroner was also informed.
