The fuel pumps at the country's Gull stations will be overloaded until noon tomorrow after the fuel company offers a 10 cents per liter discount.

For 29 hours, from 7 am today to 12 pm tomorrow, Gull announced a day of unconditional surrender for all participating sites.

There will be no minimum purchase in dollars and no maximum limit on the number of liters of fuel purchased, Gull said.

Gull Hobsonville will offer the lowest prices on its Auckland network: the regular price (91): $ 1.997, Force 10 (98): $ 2.147, diesel: $ 1.397.

Gull's general manager, Dave Bodger, said that many of their customers loved their one-day discount of offering 10 cents per liter.

"We thought of asking clients to walk around the kids, rubbing their belly at the same time and tapping their heads to get the discount, but we decided it took a lot of time," he said.

"Most of our giant oil opponents have a minimum purchase in order to qualify for this discount. You must have a piece of plastic to qualify for the discount, and the reduction is limited to an equivalent number of liters.

"We love your habit, whether you're a motorcycle, need a little extra, or want to fill the boat or truck with a few hundred gallons." At Gull, you all benefit from a reduction."
