Adam Levine, leader of the Maroon 5 group, talks about the tragic death of Jordan Feldstein, longtime director of the group and actor Jonah Hill's brother.

According to Los Angeles County Medical Inspector-Coroner, Feldstein died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 40 in December of last year. His death was deemed "natural".

In a statement to USA Today, the Feldstein family said Feldstein had called 911 after a shortness of breath. He was in cardiac arrest at the time of the arrival of the paramedics and died shortly thereafter.

Levine described Feldstein's death as "so horrible and heartbreaking".

"It was a tragedy we witnessed, and by far one of the saddest moments of our lives, and personally of mine," he told Variety in the cover of the latest issue. "He's a child I've known since we wear diapers.He was one of the most important people in my life since my youngest age."

The American Voice coach said that he thought of Feldstein "every day".

"It will always be something missing in my life, I break down, I cry, we built it together, and it will never be complete without him," he adds. "But at the same time, we know that he wants us to continue to truck."

Feldstein was the founder and general manager of Career Artist Management and has been running Maroon 5 since its inception 15 years ago. Her business clients include Miguel, B-52, Elle King and Rick Springfield.

Levine enlisted Feldstein's mentor and business partner, Irving Azoff, to co-manage Maroon 5 with Adam "Ash" Harrison and himself, according to Variety. The father of two said that it was difficult to go ahead without Feldstein.
