Yesterday, the MP had targeted the national carrier for its video that was "a juvenile mishmash that trivializes security" and "a lame attempt at entertainment".
He told the New Zealand Herald that he was sitting next to a lot of tourists by plane and that many were looking troubled by the video.
Their latest security video, "It's Kiwi Safety," garnered more than 20 million views on Youtube, but it left people divided, many expressing their disgust.
The video features Julian Dennison, an actor from Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and is a remixed rendition of the traditional security demonstration.
The TVNZ team for breakfast largely shares Mr. Jones's criticism.
Matty Maclean says, "I hate it so much, just remove it and be simple."
"I just do not know if someone whose mother tongue is not necessarily English, he moves very quickly.
"It should showcase New Zealand, I just do not feel that way," said TVNZ Breakfast Breakfast host Melissa Stokes.
Air New Zealand said in a statement that it was natural that the video did not please everyone.
"We are proud of the latest safety video and do not apologize for celebrating kiwi culture or showcasing the talents of people from 30 community groups in New Zealand, including many regions.
"It is natural that not everyone appreciates every new safety video, which was approved by the Civil Aviation Authority before boarding the plane. However, the prevailing sentiment for this latest edition is positive.
The Minister of Regional Economic Development had previously criticized the company for cutting off some of its regional roads and even pushed for the resignation of Air NZ President Tony Carter.
