Carbine Studios has definitively closed down after closing its science fiction MMO Wild Star November 28th.
Founded in 2005 by a group of former Blizzard colleagues, Carbine was purchased by NCSoft in 2007 and launched its first and only game. Wild Star seven years later in 2014.
Although the MMO met positive reviews in its launch, it struggled to attract and engage players over the years, allowing Carbine to move from game to free play in 2015 before finally closing its PvP servers underpopulated about a year later. .
Fast forward to September 2018 and NCSoft has finally decided to stop Carbine and Wild Star after rejecting two new projects proposed by the studio.
In the following months, Carbine said goodbye to everyone Wild Star Players from around the world, and in a final post on the game's website, have thanked fans for their support over the years.
