The New Zealand women's Sevens team started strongly in Dubai, ahead of their group and preparing for the quarterfinal of the Cup against Russia.
Sarah Goss, Michaela Blyde and Gayle Broughton each scored three tries. New Zealand imposed on Kenya, Russia and Ireland on the first day of the first day in Dubai on Friday (Friday, local time), the second stage of the Women's World Series. at 7.
The team of Allan Bunting – the current champion of the Commonwealth Games and the Women's World Cup of Seven Women and finalist of the World Series of Women's Sevens in 2017-18 – saw six players different cross the finish line in their first 34-7 win over Kenya.

New Zealand was forced to work harder in their 29-12 win over Russia, with a 1-2 first-half finish from Goss and a pair in the second half of Stacey Waaka bringing them home after the match. Broughton opened the scoring in the second period, while Tyla Nathan-Wong added two conversions.
A try of four tries on both sides of the half allowed New Zealand to win the victory in their 24-17 win against Ireland.
After sinking 7-0 after a try of Hannah Tyrrell, the Kiwis responded with Blyde and Broughton to take a 10-7 lead at halftime. Blyde added his second place in the first minute of the second half and Ruby Tui took the win in the 10th minute, rising 24-7, before two late tries for Ireland. Brazier launched two of the four conversions.
New Zealand will face Russia again, its opponent in the pool, during the last eight days Friday (18h NZT).
