People with mental illness are more likely to lose benefits, study finds

One study showed that people with mental illness are twice as likely to lose their existing benefits as providers with a health problem.1

Researchers at York University analyzed government data on approximately 320,000 claimants aged 16 to 64 with a physical or mental health problem who had been reassessed from a claim entitlement Disability Assistance Plan (DLA) for transfer to Personal Independence Payments (PIP) between April 2013 and October 2016.
