A young boy is taken to Tauranga hospital with an arm injury after being stuck in a mechanical lift on a rural property.

The firefighters helped release the boy, who was caught in the elevator of a property of the Western Bay of Plenty shortly after 2 pm.

Two Saint John ambulances were also present and transport the boy to the hospital.
