The affordability is clearly what Google has in reserve for its upcoming Pixel 3a and 3a XL handsets. This could allow Google to tackle the iPhone XR and Samsung Galaxy S10e handsets, which have been hugely popular thanks to lower entry cost, but with an experience substantially identical to that of the most expensive flagship models.

Release date and availability
Recent Google snippets and teasers indicate that we will see Pixels 3a and 3a XL for the first time officially at I / O 2019. The exact date given by Google is May 7th.

We will probably see the handsets on stage during an official presentation, but we do not know immediately how this launch will take place.
In terms of availability, both devices will be launched via T-Mobile alongside the Pixels 3 and 3 XL for the first time in the United States. There were rumors that these new devices would be exclusive to Verizon, but that seems to be wrong.
Characteristics
Modest handsets, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL will come with midrange hardware. This means that the internal components are slightly less robust than those found on high-end Pixel devices launched last year. So we're waiting internally for a Snapdragon 670 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and a 3,000mAh battery on the 3a model.
The charge will be via USB-C, but it is not clear if the wireless fast charge will be supported. However, a fast charge of 18 W via USB-C is included. If the device comes with the expected FHD + display, it should help improve battery life, given its relatively small size for a 2019 handset.
Camera
Fortunately, the camera module, the sensor and the software that accompanies it will match those of Pixel 3. Expect all the commands and familiar functions. This means that Night Sight, Top Shot and, as a result, the camera's performance will simply not be exceeded at the price level that Google will set at pixels 3a and 3a XL.

Although the design is not entirely inspired, it still stands out among a space cluttered with unibody designs thanks to its two-tone rear. I am intrigued to see how the device feels in the hand, as I mentioned in my review of Pixel 3, it is the most comfortable handset on the market, no question.
There is no doubt that the plastic body will help improve overall durability. The plastic could have also allowed the inclusion of the Qi wireless charging in both models – but we learned that there would be no wireless charging on either model. It's a shame because the compatibility with the support Pixel would be good, even if it looks like we will certainly not see it.
At the back you will also notice a fingerprint reader. While many other builders can not resist the appeal of an integrated player, Google is sticking to a physical option. For starters, they are faster and simply easier to use. My personal experiences with embedded readers have been mixed to say the least.
The 3a and 3a XL will include a feature you will not find in the most expensive siblings. Both devices will include the headphone port as standard. This means that the audio wired through the headphone jack is back in the menu for those who do not wish to invest in Bluetooth or in the life of a dongle.
Regarding the colors, the pixels 3a and 3a XL are divided into three distinct options. A white, a black and a kind of purple color that will probably replace the model "Not Pink" that we saw on the pixels 3 and 3 XL.

We have few rumors about Pixel 3a prices. The Pixel 3a was sold for 650 USD and 800 USD for the Pixel 3a XL.
