American actress Sharon Stone said that she had been treated in a "brutally cruel" way by hospital staff as a result of a stroke.
Stone says he had a stroke and cerebral hemorrhage nearly 20 years ago.
Best known for his roles in Primary instinct and Casino, the actress shared her experience at an event in Hollywood for the Women's Brain Health Initiative.
Addressing Variety at the event, Stone explained that she was accused of "simulating" her nine-day brain bleed.

Stone, president of the AmfAR (American Foundation for AIDS Research) global campaign for 15 years, said she had been treated in a "brutally cruel" way by the staff involved in her recovery .
"When I was in the hospital, they thought I was pretending," she said. Variety.
"By day 9 of my brain was bleeding, they told me that they were going to send me home because they thought I was pretending …
"From other women of my own business to the female judge who handled my custody case, I do not think anyone can understand how much a stroke is dangerous for women and what it takes for recover – it took me about seven years "
All night, Stone spoke frankly about her recovery, suggesting that she was feeling "forgotten" after her stroke and that she had lost her place in the film industry.
The actress, who had already been nominated for the Oscars and the Golden Globe, has used her speech to explain what she's doing now when she thinks a doctor is not taking her health problems seriously.
"Now I usually feel a lot safer with a female doctor, I always go to a male doctor, but when I'm fired, I usually go to a woman, no matter what."
