The clamor of Game of thrones the fans for a do-over of the last season of the drama has been in vain.
Casey Bloys, head of programming at HBO, said on Wednesday that there was no serious intention to rewrite the story that some viewers and critics have described as disappointing.
There are few disadvantages to having an extremely popular show like Game of thronesBloys said, but one of them is that fans have strong opinions on what would constitute a satisfactory conclusion.
At a meeting of television critics, Bloys said the film came with the territory, adding that he enjoyed fans' passion for the saga based on George R.R. Martin's novels.

Voters were reprimanded by petitioners asking for a remake: they gave Game of thrones a record 32 appointments earlier this month. The series has also set records for HBO.

HBO will want to keep the fervor of fans alive for the next Game of thrones it's in the works. The first episode is over in Ireland and the dailies look "really good," Bloys said.
The scheduled series stars Naomi Watts and takes place thousands of years before the original.
Has it been asked whether a negative reaction to Game of thrones the conclusion will shape the prequel, Bloys replied, "Not at all."
