The death of Ella Berrington in a double fatal car accident will "create a void" at the school where she was a student of year 9, said her director.
Ella was killed alongside Nathan Quist on Friday morning when the car they were in crashed into a building in Pakuranga, Auckland.
Speed was probably a factor in the accident, which one police officer described as one of the worst that they had seen in their careers.

Ella was a student at Pakuranga College. In an email to parents Friday afternoon, Principal Michael Williams offered his "most heartfelt condolences" to his family and friends.

In an e-mail to students and college staff, Doris Taufateau, Grade 12 Dean, said that the teenager's death had was accompanied by a "great sadness and extreme grief".

Kenny Quist paid tribute to Nathan online: "I was looking so much f or to see you grow up … a bright future."
The couple died when the car they were traveling in hit a lamp post, thrown on a bank and hit a commercial building around 4:30 am Friday.
A resident who lived nearby said that she thought she had heard crash. "I woke up screaming and banging after the thud," she said.
However, the wreckage was discovered only two hours later, by a man arriving at work. He said that the car was "disintegrated into several pieces".
Images of the scene showed a crumpled vehicle in the building's parking lot on Pakuranga Road.
A police officer described him as one of the worst accidents for some time.
It was "pretty obvious that speed [was] was a contributing factor," said Staff Sergeant Jono Chappell of the Manukau County Traffic Police Team.
