Car rental companies accused of charging the British over to use their vehicles

Car rental companies were accused of having ripped off Britons by accusing them more than customers from other countries.

British tenants using two of the largest firms, Avis and Europcar, paid up to £ 52 extra

A Said consumer group study revealed that the British booking a Toyota Yaris online with Avis for a five-day rental in New Zealand would be charged £ 150 against £ 98 for Germans.

Customers who wanted to make the same trip in a Super-mini Holden Spark were £ 124, while Australians only paid £ 95.

Nic McBride of a Said Spokesperson called the differences an "absolute scam". He added, "Why should someone's country determine the price they pay for the same product?"

Tourists arriving in Britain from some countries were also subject to higher charges than others.

Avis and Europcar Defended Politics

stated: "The price may be different because our dynamic pricing means that the rates are never static.All bookings are quoted in the local currency of the country, which will also change the price."

Avis added, "Car rental prices are market-driven and very dynamic, and there are many factors that determine the price, including the level of demand, the cost of service, and the exchange rate."
