The UFC is about to finalize a middle-tier head match between Derek Brunson (18-6) and Israel Adesanya (14-0) for UFC 230 Nov. 3 in New York by Brett Okamoto of ESPN. [19659002] The PPV event is to take place at Madison Square Garden and while fights are being announced, no information has yet been given about the identity of the event.

Brunson called Adesanya publicly several times and verbally accepted the date weekend by ESPN. The 34-year-old veteran was stopped by Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza last January.

Adesanya, of New Zealand, is one of the fastest rising stars of the promotion. Making his name as a kickboxer with organizations like GLORY, Adesanya signed with the UFC this year and has already gone 3-0 since switching to the Octagon.

Adesanya and the UFC are also about to enter into a new agreement by ESPN. The former kickboxer has completed three fights of a four fight bout in just five months (all victories.) His most recent win was against Brad Tavares in the main event on the TUF Finale 27.

The UFC seeks to make the UFC 230 a stacked bash of average weight. In addition to Brunson and Adesanya, former champions Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman face off, as well as Jacare Souza and David Branch, and Yoel Romero should fight Paulo Costa.
