The daughter of Dr. Liam Cavanagh (played by Jonny McPherson), Leanna (Mimi Slinger), did not arrive in Emmerdale until earlier this year, but she has continuously wreaked havoc on a number of fans' favorite residents.
The ITV soap opera initially set Leanna and Gabby on a computer team this week, as both men decided not to wish their parents, Bernice and Liam, to be together.
Fans will remember Leanna's tips for her father to separate from Maya Stepney (Louise Klein) and finally break the family's heart.
Fortunately, Maya managed to move on, but Leanna's next attempt to keep her father for her could cause her a lot of trouble.
Tonight's episode saw the bitter teenager ignore Bernice's attempts to make a fresh start, and she began sowing the seeds of doubt once again before an important gala.
Worried about not wearing the proper attire for the event with her handsome doctor Cavanagh, Bernice made the mistake of following Leanna's advice to change her glittering black dress to a larger number.
Bernice ended up wearing a huge red ball gown with white gloves and headed to the Woolpack pub to meet her appointment.
The mother of two was confronted with a horrible realization when she saw some of the other guests wearing more discreet clothes, but it was too late because Liam had already entered the room and spotted her.
Smothering her laugh, Leanna obviously loved the moment, but Bernice understood her hideous behavior.
Yet while the owner of the village lounge called the teenager for playing him such a trick, Liam faced his daughter unexpectedly.
Bernice was beaten to explain the situation to her boyfriend, but her beliefs changed and Bernice was left crying in her bathrobe at home with her daughter Gabby (Rosie Bentham).
The girl, who had already been in trouble with Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) earlier this year, apparently turned a new page and promised to stay with her mother during tonight's episode.
But will she go too far and end up hurting Leanna? Or will it just be the comfort that she deserves?
"I really thought Leanna was sincere," Bernice said through her tears.
"Yes, she is good at it, we are both," Gabby replied, in a surprising turn of events, admitting her role in the initial ploy of splitting the couple.
"I changed my mind," insisted Gabby. "And I promise you that everything happened today, that was his idea."
Too disappointed to be angry at her daughter, Bernice struggled to hide her from anger.
In response to her mother saying that everything was over, Gabby apologized, "Mom does not say that, he would be lucky to have it."
"We will not know it now," said Bernice. "In the face of reality, Liam and I are finished for good."
Her face darkening with a new plot to destroy the girl who had ruined Bernice's happiness, Gabby promised, "Mom, it's not going to happen, I promise you, I will not let it go."
What is the ominous new plan of Gabby? And will Leanna put a hit on someone else before?
