Hamish Doig, general manager of Colliers Real Estate Company, who manages the sale, said that as Calder Stewart was a real estate developer rather than a real estate investor, he wanted to sell and reinvest the capital in new projects.

Philip Cooper, of Colliers, said the property would likely attract the interest of domestic and international investors, given its size.

"National and international investors are very interested in Christchurch and we hope that EntX will attract considerable attention," he said.

Calder Stewart also sells the former police station located near St. Asaph Street. The company specifically built this temporary police station after their former central police station was damaged. Police are now housed in the city's new headquarters of justice and emergency services.
