"Gingle Bells": balls filled with gin are there to make your Christmas even more joyful

Christmas balls filled with gin became a viral sensation a few weeks ago when they were released in the UK – and now it's up to New Zealand to spend an extra merry Christmas.

Half drink, half holiday decoration, "Gingle Bells" are the perfect gift for that person of your life who has everything – including gin.

The balls are made by the Australian company Wild Hibiscus Flower Company and are presented in a gift set of six floral gin balls, filled with Australian dry gin.

The gin in the baubles comes from master distiller Reg Papps, ranked among the top five gin distillers in the world at the 2017 World Gin Awards in London.

The gin is then impregnated with six different natural botanicals. Among the aromas include lime, pea flower B & L, wattleseed, snow chrysanthemum, wild hibiscus and pepper.

For a decorative touch, the botanical flavor of each ball is visible at its center with an ethereal floral element encapsulated inside.

The set includes two balls of 54 ml to 37% alcohol by volume and four balls of 50 ml to 40% alcohol.

The set also includes a list of cocktail recipes in which the gins can be used.

The set is now available on GrabOne from today, priced at NZD 89, including shipping costs, all over New Zealand.

The agreement will last three weeks and will offer New Zealand customers a lower price compared to a purchase made directly on the Gingle Bells website.
