Kiwi heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker and his British rival Dillian Whyte are fighting for silverware later this month, with the winner guaranteed the vacant WBO International belt and the WBC Silver title.

Parker, 26, arrived in the UK overnight as he prepares for his heavyweight fight against Whyte at the O2 Arena in London July 29 (New Zealand time).

David Higgins, Parker's promoter, says the belts in play are bringing the winner closer to the fight of a title. "We have always said that this fight was a" People's Embligator "and this announcement just adds more credence to that," said Higgins

. These two belts send a powerful message that they are the legitimate challenger for a shot at Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder Their case will be extremely difficult to deny.

Higgins supports his fighter Parker to redeem himself against Whyte after losing by Joshua's unanimous decision in April in Wales, losing his WBO heavyweight title.

"It was not that far from beat him (Joshua) and have a good chance to do it in a rematch.


The Kiwi heavyweight is set to face Whyte at the O2 Arena in London on July 29th.

"And Whyte is a huge slugger – an artist who is very well ranked by almost every sanctioning organization. Why would not you want one of these guys to wear belt # 2 and line up for a major title shot?

Parker and Whyte share similar professional records with the Kiwi winning 24 fights with one loss, with Whyte winning 23 professional fights with a loss to Joshua in 2015.

Parker is sixth at the WBC, the title of the American Wilder, sixth at the WBO and seventh at the IBF. Both Joshua holds

Whyte is ranked number one in the WBC, seventh in the WBA, another title that Joshua holds and second in the WBO.
