Katie Holmes "obsessed" with Tom Cruise before meeting them

Tom Cruise and the swirling romance of Katie Holmes are part of the Hollywood legend.

After being betrothed after two months of dating and having Cruise's strange appearance during her appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, it is rare that the A-lister relationship took the audience with such a surprise.

But according to one of Holmes' former co-stars, the Dawson's Creek's relationship with Cruise has not been a shock.

Mary Beth Peil, who starred in the popular teen drama, told The Daily Beast that Holmes was a fan of the Top Gun star long before they met.

Peil remembers an incident when she was talking about the Cruise movie, Jerry Maguire, in the Dawson's Creek makeup trailer, without realizing that the guest actor in the makeup chair had close relations with the movie star.

"This woman was Mimi Rogers, the first wife of Cruise (who played Helen Lindley in the sixth and final season of Dawson)," recalls Peil.

"Then Katie launched into a big speech about Tom Cruise's marriage with Mimi Rogers, Scientology, Nicole Kidman … She knew all about him.

"She said:" I have a crush on him since I was 15 and his posters were hanging on the walls of my room. " She could not help talking about Tom Cruise. It was already long before they met, but she was certainly ready for him. "

Holmes admitted to being a Cruise fan in a 2004 interview with Seventeen magazine, stating to the teenage bible: "I used to think that I was going to marry Tom Cruise."

Cruise and Holmes became engaged in 2005, welcomed their daughter Suri in April 2006, and married in a sumptuous Italian ceremony later that year.

Holmes filed for Cruise's divorce in 2012 and rumor has it that the Suri girl is in the main custody of their daughter.
Cruise had been married to Nicole Kidman from 1990 to 2001, the couple adopting two children together; Isabella and Connor.

Previously, Mr. Cruise was married to Rogers from 1987 to 1990.

Holmes is currently in a relationship with actor Jamie Foxx, while Cruise does not have a public link with anyone yet.
