Leading seaman Mohammad Abbas signed a match of the first leg from 10th to 95th, while Pakistan recorded an emphatic victory of 373 points against Australia in the second attempt to win the series 1-0 on Friday.

Australia was convened 164 after the fourth day's lunch, after announcing an unlikely target of 538 victories.

Usman Khawaja, whose century Herculean allowed Australia to recover a draw in the first test, could not fight in the second round after tore a cartilage left knee during the warm-up Thursday.

Australia has sorely missed the Khawaja-like grain of one of its drummers on Friday.

Abbas, on a slow-moving ground, once again jerked the main drive with four quick wickets in the first hour of the fourth day.

Marnus Labuschagne, the best scorer of the match, was caught after lunch by 43 to finish at 5-62, marking his first attempt of 5-33.

Legspinner Yasir Shah went through the locker room with a 3-45 record, ending the match by having Jon Holland catch 3.

Looking to hold more than two days for a draw, Australia started the day from 1 to 47.

Travis Head (36) and Aaron Finch (31) extended their second booth stand to 61 points before Abbas hit four shots at a major bowling couture and swing show.

Head, about to replace gatekeeper Mohammad Rizwan, has replaced Captain Sarfraz Ahmed at the hospital for preventive exams upon waking on Friday, and complained of headaches.

Abbas then had Mitchell Marsh lbw on the 5th when Pakistan managed to make a video referral to referee Richard Illingworth.

Pakistan's substitute captain, Asad Shafiq, beat Finch's tactic of standing well outside his compound against Abbas, forcing Rizwan to stand near the stumps, forcing the drummer inside. The switch paid off as Abbas trapped Finch lbw.

Two balls later, captain Tim Paine was out without scoring, trying to leave a tight enough ball and knocking over the stump.

Shah then had Mitchell Starc (28) and Peter Siddle (3) both legs before the wicket. Siddle could have survived, but chose not to target a video reference, as repetitions suggested that the ball be thrown to the outside of the leg.

Labuschagne shared the best tie partnership by adding 67 points to Starc for the sixth wicket before Abbas came back after lunch and took it aside for short-term delivery.
