Peter Williams has a new job on Magic Talk.
Peter Williams, a broadcast veteran, has been confirmed as the host of the new Magic Talk station as the new radio station takes shape.
MediaWorks, owner of Magic Talk, has revealed details about the station, which should be launched next year. The announcement included a confirmation that shows would continue, and news that Magic Talk would air on two separate frequencies: one for music and another for discussion.
Williams would move to a hybrid radio station with music information next year, after working for about 40 years on television.
At age 64, the reporter announced his career change by stating, "As a person approaching the age of the Winston Gold Card, I have many thoughts and opinions on various issues."

It would host an information program on the new radio station, which should be launched in 2019. Magic Talk would replace both Magic FM and the live Radio Live chat channel. MediaWorks, however, announced that it would continue to operate two radio frequencies, broadcast Magic Talk and a separate Magic Music station.
"At different times, shared programs will also be broadcast on both stations," said a statement from the company.
Several leading Live Radio hosts are not mentioned in the press release today, including the station 's host. Morning talk show Mark Sainsbury and sports hosts Andrew Gourdie, Brendan Telfer and Jim Kayes.
MediaWorks said four of Radio Live's current shows would continue on the new station.
