Police look for a shooter following the Invercargill incident

Police still have to locate a person whom she believes to be involved in a firearm incident at Invercargill on Thursday night.

Interim Inspector Peter Graham said the police They were called to McQuarrie St, in the Kingswell suburb of Invercargill, around 10:10 pm, after receiving several reports of gunfire.

The incident was not related to a shootout on Kelvin St, June 30 where a man was shot in the leg, he said.

Police were still looking for the person responsible for the Thursday night shootings, but she was following a strong line of investigation, Graham said.

Judge Murray Hunt granted bail until his next appearance on August 8th, when he should enter
