The organizers of Porirua & # 39; s Creekfest have fifteen days to collect up to $ 70,000, otherwise the popular event will be canceled.
Liz Kelly, Executive Director of Center Porirua Whanau, said the center had only half of what was needed to organize the 2019 festival.
"We will have to cancel the Creekfest in February 2019 unless we can find between $ 60,000 and $ 70,000 in the next two weeks," she said.

The Porirua Whanau Center had in the past endorsed the event, but its funds were now entirely dedicated to supporting local families, she said.

The good times may be over for Creekfest.
Earlier in 2018, the Creekfest featured singer and songwriter Stan Walker and gathered more than 25,000 people.
"If we can not reach our funding goal in the next two weeks, we will have to cancel the Creekfest 2019," Kelly said.
"One of the options is to move to a biennial event, but it would be a shame if it is an event that people support in large numbers and who wait for it every year."

Creekfest 2018 was popular but this year could be canceled.
Porirua Mayor Mike Tana said Porirua City Council had already sent "tens of thousands" of dollars for the festival, but that the cost of running it was going up.
"I am optimistic consummated.I will do everything in my power to ensure that the money will be well paid."
