Porsche unveiled its new 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, designed and built in accordance with the new GT2 SRO regulations, at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The GT2 RS Sport Club is a 700 hp version of the 911 GT2 RS homologated for road traffic. It is limited to 200 units and can be performed at sporting events as well as at selected competitions.

"Over the next few years, our customers will not only be competing in the GT2 RS Clubsport on track days, but also at international motor racing events. We currently have very productive discussions with the organizer of the SRO race, "said Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, vice president of Motorsport and GT Cars.

The car shares the same 3.8 liter two-turbo 3.8-liter engine as the road car, and incorporates the new 935's technology revealed earlier this year.

It will be sold at a price of € 405,000 plus VAT, as of May 2019.

Porsche is the first car maker to unveil a car for SRO's new GT2 formula.

DSC understands that two other manufacturers are also about to announce GT2 cars, including Lamborghini and McLaren.
