A second man was arrested following the death of Mitchell Paterson, a man from Ngāruawāhia.

Waikato Police Inspector Grayam Pitkethley said a 36-year-old man was arrested Friday night in Paeroa. District Court Monday. He will face charges of murder and kidnapping.

A 27-year-old man, James Lee Green, was arrested Sunday night in Hamilton's suburb of Pukete and accused of being an accomplice after the fact. He is scheduled to appear again in the Hamilton District Court on July 31, after being detained this week.

Three were arrested during this police raid in Pukete, Hamilton, which one of them faces charges related to the death of Mitchell Paterson.

He was arrested as a result of an armed attack on a house on Pōhukukawa Drive on Sunday night. A 49-year-old man is also facing firearms charges as part of this raid and a 33-year-old man has been accused of breaking the peace.

The body of Mitchell Curtis Rehua Paterson was found at McLaren Falls near Tauranga on July 13th. He was a 26 year old father. Paterson's funeral took place on Thursday, July 19 at the Ngāruawāhia Bowling Club
