Seven species of sharks were removed from a slaughter list of the Queensland Government.
The school, coral reef, galapagos, drummer, pelagic drummer, thresher shark and black shark were removed from the list. This means that government contractors who monitor the baited hooks installed as part of the shark control program will no longer see them

Nicola Beynon, campaign manager at Humane Society International, said shark disposal was an obsolete way of dealing with the "very low risk" of shark bites.
"Animals that are not on the list of targets such as rays and turtles are also hooked and often die," she said.
Humane Society International takes legal action against the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and the state government.
The organization's lawyers will argue for the removal of baited hooks from the Great Barrier Reef in January.
