So, on Tuesday, when he described the Phoenix defeat series as a "blip", one was inclined to believe it.
"I said at the beginning of the season that we're going to go through a rap." It's a little bit of a bang we've had, some defeats, but nothing that concerns us with the group we have. "
Following his 3-1 defeat against Adelaide United on Saturday, coach Mark Rudan said his team's mentality remained an important area for improvement.
It came after his team entered the locker room at half-time, head down, having conceded a goal against his side just before half-time to bring the score to 1-1.
Taylor said that they should be better able to not let this kind of gaming moments reach him.
"Of our [players] point of view, we have to deal with what happened. You must forget the purpose, do not dwell on it, as repetition will occur if you persevere.
"For us, we are a very united group, which is the best thing, so we have to stay together, we trust each other and we will stay together."
Taylor said his advice to the rest of the team on how to get out of the losing streak was to not get bogged down in thinking in previous matches.
"Do not worry and do not dwell on past results.
"When you win, everything is happy, you get into a good mood, but the manager did it brilliantly today. [Tuesday].
"He arrived and had the guys with big smiles on his face." The workout was nice, the boys responded well and it was such a spirited session.
