Hardaker was announced as chairman of the Board of the Environmental Protection Authority on Tuesday afternoon.
The authority is the government's environmental regulator, and deals with areas including hazardous substances, marine activities in our Economic Zone, and whether new organisms can be introduced in New Zealand.
